About the Aboriginal & Torres Strait Islander flags

The Aboriginal flag© is an important symbol of unity and national identity for the Aboriginal peoples of Australia. It was designed by the late Mr Harold Thomas, a Laritja man from Central Australia during the land rights movement of the early seventies. It is now recognised as the official flag of Aboriginal Australians. The colours of the flag hold special meaning:
